CLSU International Journal of Science and Technology accepts original research works related to science and technology that address the problems of the developing world. This includes:

Peer Review Process

Research papers considered for publication are critically reviewed by at least three members of the Board of Reviewers who are experts in the subject matter. To observe impartiality, the identity of the author/s is unknown during the review process. The submitting author shall be informed of the status of the review of the manuscript within three weeks after its submission. The manuscript is considered for publication if it passed the evaluation of at least 3 reviewers.

    Reviewed manuscript may be classified as either:
    a.) accepted as it is;
    b.) accepted with minor revisions;
    c.) accepted with major revisions; and
    d.) rejected.

Once revised and accepted, the galley proof of the manuscript will be returned to the submitting author for final proofreading. To be considered for publication in the next issue of the journal, the galley proof must be returned by the submitting author via email to the editor-in-chief within three days upon receipt.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Ethical Consideration

For studies on species regulated under any Philippine law, state the following sentence or an equivalent statement under the manuscript’s Ethics Statement: “The authors obtained an authorization/permit/consent allowing (state what the document is about) from the (state the issuing government office or institution).”

For studies involving human subjects, please state the following sentence or an equivalent statement in the manuscript under the Ethics Statement section that relates to your situation: “All the procedures followed were in line with the ethical principles of the responsible committee on human experimentation and the 1975 Helsinki Declaration as revised in 2000. The authors obtained informed consent from all participants for inclusion in the study.” The following sentence should also be included if any identifying information about participants is included in the paper: “Additional informed consent was obtained from all individuals for whom identifying information is included in this article.”

For studies with animals, provide the following sentence in the manuscript under the section Ethics Statement: “The researchers followed all institutional and national guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals.”

If the authors did not carry out animal or human studies as part of their research, they must include the following statement in the manuscript under the section Ethics Statement: “No animal or human studies were carried out by the authors.”

If the authors have not included or cannot include one of these statements in your manuscript, please provide the reason or an alternative statement in the cover letter and the manuscript.

In the case of animal experimentation, all animal experiments should comply with ethics in animal research. Details on the ethical and Animal Care and Use Committee clearance must be provided. Authors must obtain prior approval from their Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) or equivalent. 

Plagiarism, misreporting, and Falsification of Data

Plagiarism is committed when one author uses another work without permission, credit, or acknowledgment. Plagiarism takes different forms, from literary copying to paraphrasing the work of another. 

The journal uses TurnItIn plagiarism checker to detect any form of plagiarism on the submitted manuscript. Any manuscript exceeding to 20% similarity threshold will be returned to the author and advised for appropriate action. 

All manuscripts and materials submitted to CLSU IJST should contain accurate information and should properly cite all sources. The editors and reviewers will report any suspected plagiarism, misreporting, or falsification of data to the Editor-in-Chief.

Manuscript Charges

The journal has no publication fee. Color figures will be reproduced in the online publication free of charge.
